ASCOS results presented in Brussels

Consortium partners, user group members, the industry and European Commission representatives all gathered in Brussels on the 28 and 29 of May for the Final Dissemination Forum of the ASCOS project.

Although there are still a few active work packages remaining until the conclusion of ASCOS at the end of June, the two-day meeting presented the key findings, results and application of the 3-year research project, funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme.

In addition to presentations from the ASCOS work package managers, keynote speakers included Michael Kyriakopoulos (European Commission), Michel Piers (EREA & Future Sky Safety), Eric Sivel (European Aviation Safety Agency) and Jos Wilbrink (CAA NL).

It was felt that overall the ASCOS project had broken new ground and delivered new techniques, tools and ideas which will contribute towards aviation safety both through certification of novel products and continuous safety monitoring of existing and future operations.
